This time of year can be an interesting one for the psyche soma (MindBody being) and this practice is a response to the special time of December and all that comes along with it.
As expressions of nature ourselves, our natural sense to go within, slow down and reflect is strong at this time of year.
Set beside the relentless pace of a modern city lifestyle, burn out and exhaustion can arise. December is a universal time of gatherings, endings, reunions, family time and all the emotions that come with the above.
It is a time of ‘giving’ but as the saying goes “we cannot give from an empty cup”.
In this workshop you will explore yoga asana and breath techniques to restore frayed nerves. You will learn how to cultivate an accessible and robust sensory based healthy boundary system (to sit in ones centre, calm, clear place). The asana will be followed by a yoga nidra practice in support of regulating the emotional states, tension release and the recharging of vital energy levels.
The practice is one focused on reminding you how to center, rest and reframe, to recall your innate ability to self soothe, when the mind has forgotten how. How to emotionally regulate, calm the nervous system and sit, centered and at peace. Beneath a stormy sea is a deep calm quiet found beneath the waves. This workshop shows you how to ‘drop in’ to that.
In this way then, one can go with the flow (and not be lost at sea) and be able to offer the gift of presence to our loved ones, tap into the wisdom of the season and less with the stories around it.
Self care is an action of empowerment, and self abandonment is one of disempowerment. From the empowered state, everything is different, the level of clarity we can find, the depth of compassion and love, unlimited.
