Go upside down for a good cause!

Inversions workshop for yoga teachers and experienced yogis in support of OMPowerment.

Would you love a bit more space and time in class to practice and prep for handstand, forearm stand, headstand and shoulder stand? Could you do with some hints and tips in supporting others into these poses, or do you have some to share? Fancy getting together with other fun and interested yogis to explore this topic together?

On 1 December 2018, Hannah Turner Voakes and Susie Gerke will lead a workshop / create a space for exploration of these poses. We will warm up together, leave lots of time to share and experiment, and then wind down with a lovely restorative sequence. We will be aiming to create a sense of community and positivity around what can be demanding poses to practice and to teach. We hope you’ll leave feeling energised, chilled and more confident going upside down.

You’ll also leave knowing you’ve done something wonderful, as all proceeds will go to the OmPowerment Project. Their mission is to empower refugees to lead themselves and members of their communities in the healing practice of trauma informed yoga. 100% of the money raised from this workshop will be donated to the first Myanmar OMPowerment training.

It will be running in collaboration with Whispering Seed, a Myanmar based charitable organisation focusing on the empowerment of local communities through holistic education. There are 10 girls from different conflict areas, internally displaced person (IDP) camps and monastic orphanages attending the training. The project will also be delivering a second training in Yangon aimed at yoga teachers, enabling them to deliver further OMPowerment yoga trainings to refugees and communities that are internally displaced within Myanmar's conflict zones.

The price is on a donate-what-you-can-basis. The recommended minimum donation is £20 per person. If you can bring more on the day, then please do so.

Booking via Eventbrite or MBO.
