A 2 hour yin yoga workshop with Laura Nowell designed to create spaciousness within breath, body and mind.
In Chinese medicine, the element of space (ether) is aligned with spring time, the season associated with new beginnings and a spirit of renewal. This makes it a potent time to make room for whatever wants to come forth in our lives.
The session will integrate breathing techniques (Pranayama) and offer a meditative approach throughout. It will end with some yoga Nidra (conscious sleep) to stimulate an even deeper state of relaxation.
With floor based postures held for up to 10 minutes and props for support, Yin yoga works to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which enables the body’s natural capacity to restore itself.
This style of yoga requires a mindful approach where we focus on the internal experience of the poses, instead of outer form. When we cultivate this kind of presence, we tap into our somatic nervous system and develop a deeper awareness of being.
All ages and abilities are welcome.
You will be in expert hands with Laura, having practiced yoga for over a decade and teaching internationally for 6 years. She is also a yoga therapist, and somatic coach.
